How do you define a motorbike ride?

For many, a motorbike ride is the sum total of a good deal of adrenaline rush, great speed,… and a good amount of noise.

But what if you can put your hands on a two wheeler that is fast enough to give you the thrill of horse ride but doesn’t come with the irritating noise of a gasoline motorbike? Well, let’s introduce you to the new entrant in the line of green vehicles – the Zero X electric two wheeler that cuts back on emission along with the noise.

You can have this dirt bike for a dream price of $6,900 and you can buy directly from the manufacturer, the Zero Motorcycles, a California-based company. At this magic figure, this all-electric bike is comparable with many 250cc gas-burning motorcycles. As a matter of fact one of its earliest celebrity customers included Google co-founder Larry Page.

But the question is: why should you buy one? Here are a few reasons, at least one of which can make sufficient sense why you should consider parking a Zero X in your garage!

1.	First of all, as its name suggests, this all electric dirt bike is silent, fast and green. Running on lithium-ion the engine gives you a noise free, emission free ride.

2.	The Zero X will only go 40 miles on a single charge, Still, that’s enough for most of the daily US bikers, who on an average only ride about 25 miles to 30 miles a day, confirms several studies.

3.	It takes just two hours to completely recharge the battery. Motocross professionals can buy a spare battery for $2,500.

4.	Zero X comes with one unique feature and it is the orange safety bracelet that is connected to a driver’s wrist as well as the ignition key. The bracelet sends the key to the off position, in case the rider leaves the engine running.

5.	The engine of Zero X equates the power of 250cc gasoline bike. Still this 120-pound two wheeler accelerates much faster.

6.	Again if you find it too fast, then access the bike’s brain – the virtual control panel – through your PC via the USB port. You will be exposed to the ZBrain computer that throws open a host of customization options for the rider. This enables you to create multiple riding profiles for different users. This gives you the option of setting an acceleration mode and curbing down the top speed.

For all those who have already started dreaming about taking a spin in this magic machine – the company is yet to launch a street-legal commuter bike. But you don’t have to wait long for this – it is going to be released in the coming months. This commuter version is going to be slightly larger and more powerful than the Zero X. It will be a competitor to Brammo Motorsports’ commuter bike, the Enertia which is selling for $11,995.

Want a Zero X for some splendid bike ride experience? Do one thing – join Zero’s fan club for a $2,000 fee and place your order right now. This $2,000 will be credited when you purchase this splendid bike.

How much do you think the common consumers are bothered about the environmental issues?

They care a lot actually!

Need the proof?

Just check with the growing interests among the consumers about the environment friendly electric cars ! Add to the environmental concerns the issue of high gas price, the speculations about its further rise in the future and the Statemen’s increasing appeals to the nation to cut back on their fuel consumption and you will find the explanation why the car giants are putting so much stakes on inventing novel electric car concepts.

Zero emission, dramatically low cost of fuel…there are several reasons why one should consider an investment in electric car! However, the futuristic electric car concepts that you come to see in the various auto shows across the nation are still years away to make them available in a practical scale. But if you are too impatient to wait till then and want to travel in your electric car right now…here are the two best options you can try on this date!

For instance think of this car…the Global Electric Motorcar– better known as the GEM car among auto enthusiasts. The GEM from the House of DaimlerChrysler has been given the most futuristic get up with an resemblance with Volkswagen Beetle. Just plug it into a standard 110-volt outlet and whooooosh….the Gem will take you 30 miles ahead without any recharge! Ideal for a city driving, the GEM car will help you to travel at a speed up to 25 mph. You will get a cool two to six seat model of GEM and a ride will give you the same comfort as the other compact cars on the road. GEM has been particularly popular with the older people with a penchant for golf-lifestyle.

Looking for something more energetic, more vibrant? Well the Tesla Roadster has everything in it to become your next favorite car! Looking like a Lotus sports car it takes as little as four seconds to pick up from zero to 60 mph and you can challenge the wind at the speed of 130 mph while riding your Telsa! and all this you can enjoy without harming the environment as it does not run on a traditional engine or burns tons of fuel; a lithium ion battery-powered electric motor is all that this wonder car needs to give you the most exciting ride. However, you should be ready to pay the price for the quality even though it is as high as $100,000. But price does not become an issue when you really get the value for your money and it has been proved with the sale of first 220 models within 6 months since its first brush with the stores.

For more information about these cars visit their website at

This week Scientific American reported that there is a sufficient amount of power to switch from gas to electric.

They said that “Rumors of the electric car’s demise appear to have been greatly exaggerated, with so-called plug-in hybrids making the rounds from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C., along with the sporty, new all-electric Tesla Roadster on offer. Now a new analysis from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) offers more good news: existing electric power plants could fuel 84 percent of ‘light duty’ vehicles if all 220 million cars and trucks converted to electric power overnight. ‘We’re delighted to see solid third-party confirmation of what the people who know best–the utilities–have been saying for sometime,’ says Felix Kramer, plug-in hybrid owner/evangelist and founder of Calcars.org.”

So there’s really no excuse not to start making the switch – it’s just amazing that the American government is not promoting this more, especially since so much of our money goes to some of their biggest enemies.

So what can you do? Write your representatives at congress.org.
